These are Basking Fixtures, We always recommend a ceramic base as fixtures need to be able to properly handle heat without deforming, failing, or catching fire.

It is advisable to use regulating thermostats when using heat lamps, and also ensure the proper function of smoke alarms, circuit breakers, etc. Improperly used heat lamps can cause fire to occur! We Include a Free Mounting Spring Clip with every fixture to reduce fire risk!
